"Sionnaich and the Soul" by Rory Alan MacLean

"Sionnaich and the Soul" Oil on linen. 28 in. x 22 in.Oil on linen.
A self-portrait full of personal symbolism. The foxes (Sionnaich) nestled on and around me represent the sly comfort of self-deception that generates resistance to inner growth. The Anima, awakening behind me, represents the creative force awaiting union. The gold wall alludes to the actualization of that union and the state of pure abandonment to inspiration.
